Player Postgame Quotes
Tyler Ash, So., Guard
Feeling on being efficient in second half:
“I think that at the beginning of the game we didn’t come out with enough energy. In the second half we calmed down, came out with more energy and everyone was ready to play.”
Being asked to do many things this year:
“I do whatever it takes to win. Last year, I didn’t have a lot of confidence in myself. This year it’s a lot different because my teammates have a lot of confidence.”
Kayla Alexander, Fr. Center
Reason Rider was able to get ball down low:
“I think we need to front the post more. We played behind too much.”
Carmen Tyson-Thomas, Fr., Guard
Feeling coming off the bench:
“It’s pretty much what we do every game. We come in with a different type of energy coming off the bench. We try to get as much energy as we can because that’s what we do as the sixth, seventh and eighth man does. We try to add that extra spark.”
Early success at college level:
“I didn’t expect it because I knew college is a different level. I knew I wanted to play and I wanted minutes so you need to earn your minutes in practice to play. That’s what I tried to do. You need compete: Erica (Morrow) pushes me everyday.”
How earn the minutes:
“Competing, really playing hard and physical. You know as long as you’re trying and giving effort that’s a big thing. Effort is the key. As long as you’re giving effort, you’re going to earn your minutes. I practice as hard as I play in a game.”
