Postgame Player Quotes
Syracuse vs. Virginia Commonwealth
Manley Field House — Syracuse, New York
March 26, 2010
Nichole Michael, Senior, Forward
How was the matchup with Moss?
“She is a really tough player. I was trying to post her up, but she is a pretty strong girl. She is a really tough player to go up against and she played a great game. It was a great matchup, but luckily we came out with the win.”
What was the big difference in the second half?
“I think we all just came together. We said we had to pick up the intensity and play hard on defense. Once we did that, we executed well and stopped them.”
At any point did you think this might be your last game playing for Syracuse?
“No I didn’t panic at all. I know my teammates and we just kept our heads up and we just got it done.”
When did you realize that this is your last home game here in Syracuse?
I didn’t even think when I went into the locker room that this was my last home game, but I am really going to miss playing here. I am not really emotional yet, but it was really great playing here for four years and I am really going to miss it here.”
Kayla Alexander, Freshman, Center
How did it feel to be double teamed a lot during this game?
“I had a pretty good start and then kind of went cold, but there are five players on the floor and that gave them the opportunity to get open. It is annoying because it is a lot harder to get the ball, but it allows for other players to become open.”
How does it feel to be a freshman out on the court?
“I am just thankful to be playing and I try to go out there and compete every time I am out there on the floor.”
“How did it feel to have the team be so successful at their free throws?
“It was a nice change. Usually our free throw percentage is not that good, but I thought we did a decent job today. It really helped.
