Syracuse Post-Game Quotes
Syracuse vs. Georgetown
May 1, 2010
Carrier Dome
Head Coach Gary Gait
Overall thoughts on the game:
“Georgetown took its time and played with composure. That was the biggest thing that allowed them to be successful. They didn’t force any passes inside and worked until they got an easy shot.”
On the offense:
“We had 31 shots and normally our shooting percentage is much better. Sometimes the pressure gets to us a little bit. It’s certainly not due to a lack of opportunities. Normally we get about 15 goals on 30 shots. We had some great looks. It was just a tough day for us finishing on offense.”
On the team’s mindset after the tough loss:
“We have to go back and build on our strengths and make sure our game plan is sharp getting ready for Notre Dame. We have nothing to lose so we’re going to play hard, have some fun and enjoy ourselves.”
Eileen Finn Sr. Defense
Overall thoughts on the game:
“We always love playing Georgetown. It is always a great game and a great rivalry. We came out pumped up on senior day with a lot of emotions and I can’t wait to see them again.”
On what the team needs to focus on for the rest of the season:
“We just have to stay together. We are a great team and a great family. We have to keep pushing each other and pick up the intensity. In the playoffs everything is faster and harder so we have to push each other in practice so we’ll be ready for the games.”
