The man-to-man defense really helped turn around the first half. Have you been working on the press in practice?
“Everyday we work on our press. Our zone is our first defense, but we could be better man-to-man. It’s going to help us on the defensive end. Also it’s going to help our zone because our zone basically has man-to-man principles. Today our press got us going and James Southerland made some shots, Dion made some shots to get the lead open and everyone contributed tonight.”
Was it weird to not have Coach Fine there?
“Yeah, we left his seat open in honor of him. Everything we did tonight is what Coach Fine would have wanted us to do. We just have to keep playing great basketball and keep pushing forward and try to win every game.”

Can you take about what that full court pressure did for you guys?
“It opens a lot up and you just put the pressure right on. James got a quick nine points that fast. We just have to continue to play hard on defense, continue to work hard and have each others backs out there.”

How are you feeling about getting to go to Madison Square Garden?
“I’m excited to get away and play in the environment. It’s almost like another home game. We should have big fan support. I am excited to play there.”
