Dr. Marvin Brown, 1933 (Tennis)
Throughout his career Brown served on many professional boards and committees, including serving as president of the Madison County Medical Society and the Four County Committee. Brown was a delegate from Madison County and the Fifth District of New York State on the Medical Society of the State of New York.
Throughout his career Brown was an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Family Practice for SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse. He was the Director on the Oswego County Mental Health Board, school physician for the Central Square Centralized School System and the physician for the Jamesville Penitentiary.
Brown has been very active within his community, both in Syracuse and in Arizona. He was the trustee and chairman of the Ritual Committee, Temple Society of Concord. He served as director of the Executive Board of the Hiawath Council for the Boy Scouts of America and was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award in 1978. In 1970 Brown received the Citizen of the Year award of the North Shore Communities of Oneida Lake. He also received the Scroll Award from Central NY Academy of Medicine in 1987, which is its highest award. In Arizona, Brown served on the boards of the Sun Cities Hospice and Sunshine Center. He is on the Foundation Board of the Sun Health which includes the Boswell Hospital and the Dell E. Webb Hospital. Brown has received the Sun Cities/Northwest Valley Division Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix Dr. Abraham B. Tamis Leadership Award.
Brown served on the board of the Syracuse Medical Alumni Association and in 1986 he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
