Eastern Christian High School

6'6'' Middle Blocker
A native of North Haledon, N.J., VanDyke joins Syracuse as an early graduate from Eastern Christian High School. VanDyke was a two sport athlete in high school, competing in both volleyball and basketball at Eastern Christian. In volleyball she dominated at the net, ending her career at ECHS with 71 blocks and more than 240 kills during the 2012 season.
"Michelle has played a lot of basketball in high school but we are very impressed with her skill and especially her athletic ability and looking foward to what she will bring to us on the court in 2013," said head coach Leonid Yelin.
Honors and Awards: Named to second team all county in Passiac in 2011 and 2012, garnering first and second team all league in 2011 and 2012 as well.
Personal: Played basketball at Eastern Christian, earning first team all county in Passiac and first team all league across four years enrolled.
