J. Edwards Gramlich, 1934
J. Edward Gramlich earned varsity letters in both crew and football from 1930 to 1934 and was crew captain in 1934. Gramlich graduated magna cum laude with a BS in administrative engineering and was a Rhodes Scholar nominee. He had a graduate fellowship in the Maxwell School in 1934-35. He was director of the Agency for International Development in Sud, Africa from 1962-1964. Gramlich has chaired and presided over SU reunions, alumni clubs, and fundraisers. His main occupation was superintendent of maintenance for Kodak Park in Rochester from 1947 through 1971. Gramlich has been extremely active in community and civic activities including youth and children’s bureau, Big Brother-Big Sisters, scouting, environment and health board, American Farm School, United Nations Association and others. He has been loyal to Pittsford, NY and was their Volunteer of the Year Award winner in 1985.
