Player Quotes
Carrier Dome – Syracuse, N.Y.
C.J. Fair, Senior, Forward
How do these exhibition games help you? What other kinds of things are you hoping to work on?
“Just play all the games from start to finish. Just making plays. We weren’t really making that many plays at times. We got going a little bit in the first half -- a little bit in the second half. We’ve got to keep our rhythm throughout the game.”
What did you think of Tyler (Ennis) running the point?
“I think he did well. I saw him make mistakes he normally doesn’t make. That’s normal for a freshman point guard. Overall I think he played well.”
Trevor Cooney, Sophomore, Guard
Was it important to come out and hit your first few shots?
“I think so, just coming out and making shots and just playing and playing hard. I found in the 2-3 I was good and everyone was good. Offensively we moved it well and we found the right people. I was able to get to the right spot and if they didn’t foul me I was able to hit shots.”
How much of a confidence boost was it to hit your first two shots?
“I think with anyone, if you come out and make shots it’s definitely a confidence booster . For me it’s huge. If I can come out and get a defensive deflection or anything to get in the flow of the game, hitting a shot definitely helps that.”
Ron Patterson, Freshman, Guard
How did it feel to get out there and play?
“It felt great just getting out there and playing, playing the zone and knocking some shots down, get the crowd going. It was good.”
That 3-pt shot over the double team took a lot of confidence. Do you play with a lot of confidence?
“G-Mac (Gerry Macnamara) told me to play with a lot of confidence and that’s what I do.”
