Student-Athlete Quotes
Oshae Brissett, Fr., F
How disheartening was it for them to go 7-for-13 from three in the second half?
“In the first half they weren’t doing that at all. But they started doing that in the second half. We should have adjusted quicker and gotten up on the shooters. It would have changed the game.”
You always seem to find your range. What was working for you out there?
“I felt like I was just picking my spots and my teammates trusted me to get those shots going. It was kind of a tough night for both Tyus [Battle] and Frank [Howard], so I felt like I should step in there and try to help contribute.”
The season isn't over yet, but how much does the room for error decrease with a loss like this?
“A lot. We were hoping to win. It would have given us, I wouldn’t say a cushion, but a lot more cushion than we have right now. We have tough games coming up on the road and another tough one at home. We just have to focus on every game. We are going to focus on Miami now and forget about this one because we know that every game matters.”
Tyus Battle, So., G
How do you guys move forward and try to get back to your winning ways?
“It starts on defense. We had some defensive breakdowns today, especially with the screen into a three. We just had some bad breakdowns and that’s what lost us this game.”
Coming back from eight down there with about a minute and a half left, was there any doubt that this team could come back from that?
“We play with a lot of heart, so I wasn’t surprised that we came back from eight down. We just have to work on closing out games. That’s the key.”
What did Oshae Brissett show you tonight?
“Versatility. I mean I’ve seen it multiple times with Oshae. He can shoot it, get to the basket, and he’s athletic. He showed us his complete package tonight. He played great.”
