What happened in the last few minutes after you tied it at 74-74 and couldn’t get another score? What was the difference there?
“We just missed a couple shots at the end. There wasn’t a lot of time left; there was only a minute or so left in the game. We just need to make shots. They made a layup and some foul shots so that was the difference.”
Multiple times after you’ve lost, you’ve bounced back with big road wins. Now you’re going down to Cameron Indoor. How do you guys bounce back again and pull out a big win in the toughest environment all year?
“Play exactly the way we played tonight, but just make smarter plays at the end of the game. We had the game won but we gave them the ball and gave them plays. This has been happening all year, so we just have to learn and finish our games.”
Playing in front of a crowd like that is the reason you guys come here right?
“Yeah of course. We have the best fans in the country and we showed it tonight. We’ve showed it multiple times this year. Any time the crowd gets going like that it gives us a lot of momentum. We just have to get some wins.”

This was a game with a lot of emotion where you almost beat a top-ranked team. What are the emotions that come at the end of the game and what are the emotions that you have right now?
“In the game you just enjoy it. It’s what we come here for. We love the environment and playing in front of 30,000 or whatever fans. The fans were unbelievable tonight. They did all they could but right now this hurts. We’re competitors. At the end of the day we are right back at it Saturday. We expected to win. This one hurts because we let it slip out of our hands. We just have to learn from it.”
What did you see on the three that you took at the end of the game?
“That wasn’t the play. We had some miscommunication. I just got out there and it was a shot I’ve made before. I took it and I missed. We were just trying to get an open look.”
What made North Carolina so successful against the zone?
“They were very crisp and very organized. They knew what they were looking for. They did a great job of cutting off the middle path, something we haven't really seen before. It took us a while to get adjusted to it. They just made some tough turnarounds, and the big guys had a really great touch and made some shots. “
