Carrier Dome, Syracuse, N.Y.
Boston College Head Coach Jim Christian
What difference did it make for Ky Bowman not to start this game?
“I don’t think it makes any difference. He’s the leader of our team and we’re proud of him and the way he carries himself and the pride he takes in our team and the pride he takes in being a leader of our team. It didn’t throw us off. We played well in the beginning.”
You guys missed your first 11 shots. Can you talk about that? Was it them? Was it the defense?
“We had four layups, but the guys didn’t make some shots. We got to the foul line. You can’t worry about it or them, it’s about if we’re getting good shots. When you’re getting layups, you’ve probably got a good shot, whether it goes in or not – it’s unfortunate sometimes. Some guys missed some shots inside that they could make. After the first five minutes, we got some terrific shots – wide open three’s and some layups.”
Can you talk about the roll of Buddy Boeheim in Syracuse’s offense?
“He makes open shots. You have to go where he is and if he has any room at all he makes it. He plays with a tremendous amount of confidence and he’s been a really good player. “
You fell behind by 20 but you scored the next 14, can you talk about that run?
“I’m tired of falling behind by 20. I’m more concerned about why we fell behind by 20 and why we come back. We got some stops and we got some plays around the basket, I think that got us back in the game.”
