THE OUTCOME
- Undefeated Liberty recorded 520 total offense yards against Syracuse, which helped the Flames to a 38-21 road victory. The Flames were led by sophomore running back Shedro Louis, who recorded 170 yards across 10 attempts, including two touchdowns.
- Syracuse freshmen running back Sean Tucker earned his second career 100-yard game of the campaign. He finished with 111 yards in 21 attempts.
- Redshirt senior quarterback Rex Culpepper made the second start of his career. He completed 19 of 40 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns. He was intercepted once.
- Senior tight end Aaron Hackett notched his first touchdown of the year on a 12-yard pass from Culpepper.
- Redshirt sophomore Anthony Queeley had a career day and earned his first collegiate touchdown off a 21-yard pass from Culpepper. He ended the afternoon with five receptions for 77 yards.
- Junior wide receiver Taj Harris tallied a career-high 9 receptions, good for 97 yards and a touchdown
- Tucker carried 21 times for 111 yards in his second career start.
- Sophomore linebacker Mikel Jones forced a Liberty fumble that he recovered, preventing a Liberty threat near the goal line goal near the end of the second quarter.
- The Orange entered the contest ranked first among FBS squads in turnovers gained with 14.
- Syracuse has forced a turnover in 30 of its last 31 games.
- Sophomore Isaiah Jones recovered a mishandled punt early in the second quarter to give the Orange a first and 10 from the Liberty 14-yard line.
- Redshirt senior Nolan Cooney punted six times for a 46.5 average. He landed all six punts inside the 20 and had a long punt of 52 yards.
- Redshirt junior Markenzy Pierre returned his first two kickoffs of the season and totaled 53 yards on the runbacks.
- Redshirt seniors Josh Black and McKinley Williams saw action on both side of the ball -- on defense at their traditional defensive end and defensive tackle positions, and on offense in a short-yardage package at tight end and running back, respectively.
