THE OUTCOME
- Notre Dame outscored the Orange in the first three quarters, giving the Irish the 45-21 victory at Notre Dame Stadium.
- Junior Anthony Queeley (WR) hauled in the first touchdown of the game on an 18-yard pass from Rex Culpepper.
- Freshmen Sean Tucker (RB) earned his third 100+ yard rushing game, running for 113 yards. Joe Morris was the only other Orange rusher to have eared three 100+ yard rushing games as a freshman.
- Redshirt Sophomore Cooper Lutz (RB) notched his first ever touchdown on an 80-yard rush. He also recorded his first ever 100+ yard game with 102 yards on the day.
- Senior Rex Culpepper (QB) completed 19 of 29 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown.
- Taj Harris moved into a tie for sixth all time with 135 career receptions. He’s now tied with Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison.
- Freshmen Marlowe Wax (LB) recovered a fumbled snap from Ian Book less than three minutes into the third quarter. It’s his second-straight week being involved in a fumble after forcing what resulted in a safety vs. Louisville.
- Freshmen Ja’Had Carter (DB) picked off Ian Book for his second career pick and Book’s second interception of the season.
- Sophomore Geoff Cantin-Arku (MLB) tied his career high in sacks with 2.0 on Book.
- Redshirt senior Nolan Cooney (P) kicked seven times for 298 yards. This moved him to second all-time in most punting yards in a single season with 3,314.
- Redshirt junior Andre Szmyt drilled three PATs, moving him to thirst in the Orange’s all time attempted PAT list with 125.
- Syracuse defense held Notre Dame to its second lowest scoring first quarter of the season, and the lowest since the Irish faced Duke (Sept. 12, 2020).
- This was the first time two Orange players had rushed for 100+ yards in a single game since Moe Neal (115) and Jarveon Howard (115) did last season at Duke.

- Redshirt senior Josh Black (T): 24th consecutive start
- Redshirt junior Andre Szmyt (PK): 36th consecutive start

- Syracuse won the toss and elected to defer to the second half.
NEXT GAME
- This game concludes the 2020 season for Syracuse. The Orange wrap up at 1-10 on the season and 1-9 in conference. The next time ‘Cuse will take the field for formal competition is at Ohio in the 2021 season opener.
