Name, Image and Likeness
Student athletes now have the ability to earn compensation through the use of their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), empowering them to build personal brands and engage in business ventures while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. NIL activities may include endorsements, social media promotions, autograph signings, hosting camps or clinics, etc. While these opportunities offer exciting benefits, they also come with important compliance responsibilities. Athletes must follow NCAA guidelines, institutional policies, and state laws, including disclosure requirements and restrictions on pay-for-play rules.
