After a four-year playing career and a season as a student-assistant coach at San Diego State University, Josh Bringuel was added as a Defensive Graduate Assistant by head coach Dino Babers prior to the 2021 season.
Bringuel, who worked at both defensive line and linebacker with the Aztecs as a player, will be assisting with Syracuse’s linebackers. He also served as the special teams coordinator for SDSU in their game against Colorado on Nov. 28, 2020.
While at SDSU, he coached First Team All-Mountain West linebacker Caden McDonald. He was part of the program that won the 2016 Mountain West Championship and Las Vegas Bowl and the 2019 New Mexico Bowl Champions.
A San Jose, California native, Bringuel saw time on special teams in his playing career. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned a graduate certificate in counseling at SDSU.
