John Oliver joined the Syracuse Cross Country and Track & Field program in 2010, and began his current position as the Orange's director of operations in 2011. Oliver will coordinate equipment and team travel while also working primarily with the SU distance runners.

Oliver ran cross country and track & field all four years at North Central College, where his team placed in the top four at the Division III Cross Country Nationals twice. His team also won numerous College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) championships.

Oliver hails from St. Louis, Mo. and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in exercise science from SU.
