Shelby Knoeller joined Syracuse as an assistant athletic trainer in August 2016. She came to the Orange after serving as an athletic trainer at Excelsior Orthopedics.
Knoeller's primary responsibilities include providing injury care and prevention for the Orange women's ice hockey team. In 2016-17 and 2017-18, she worked with the women's soccer and women's rowing programs.
Knoeller was an outreach athletic trainer for Excelsior Orthopedics from August 2015-16, providing sports medicine care for the Amherst School District. She also assisted with Excelsior Orthopedics' clinic and supervised and educated to CAATE Accredited Daemen College athletic training students.
Prior to that, Knoeller was an athletic training intern with Binghamton during 2014-15. With the Bearcats, her primary sport responsibilities were softball and women's volleyball.
She also previously provided per diem athletic training services for Binghamton and University at Buffalo camps.
Knoeller is a 2013 graduate of Daemen College in Amherst, New York, with a B.S. in health care studies. She earned her Master's in athletic training from Daemen in 2014. She is NATABOC certified, is a licensed New York State athletic trainer and is certified as a Graston Technique M1 provider.
