Robyn Malloy Pepicelli, a two-time national championship coach, is in her fifth season as an assistant. She played for the Orange in 1996-97 and was team captain as a senior.
After joining the program as an assistant coach in July of 2005, Pepicelli helped coach the Orange to its first post-season appearance since 2001. The Orange qualified for the BIG EAST Tournament.
Pepicelli’s responsiblities as assistant coach include assisting with day-to-day operations as well as recruiting and team training. Pepicelli oversees the academic progress of the student-athletes and works team and individual camps.
A 1998 gradutate of Syracuse University, Pepicelli returned to the Orange program after serving as the sports information director and assistant women’s soccer coach at Monroe Community College in Rochester, N.Y.
While at Monroe Community College, she helped coach teams to two national titles, as well as six Region III crowns. She has also served as an assistant coach for Hartwick College and the Fairport, N.Y. travel team. In 1994, she earned her “E” New York State U.S.S.F. coaching license.
Along with her coaching reponsibilities at Monroe, Pepicelli served as the sports information director. She was responsible for maintaining the school’s athletics web page, producing media guides, event programs and press releases for all sports.
Pepicelli graduated from Syracuse with a bachelor’s degree in speech communications. She earned her associate’s degree in liberal arts from Monroe Community College in May of 1996.
Pepicelli scored two career goals at Syracuse, including one in the first game in school history against Buffalo.
In 1995, Pepicelli helped Monroe to the national championship. She was named to the all-region and all-conference teams and was named team captain.
