Shafer joins the Syracuse women's soccer staff as a graduate assistant, studying in the New Media Management master’s program at the Newhouse School of Public Communication. The 2017 Syracuse grad is very familiar with the ‘Cuse program as she was a four-year member of the soccer team from 2013-17, playing in the goalkeeper position.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Syracuse and spent her free time working in the Syracuse Athletic Communications department as a media assistant. Additionally, Shafer worked professionally as a public relations manager for Point 3 Basketball and used her soccer knowledge to work as a graphic designer for the International GK Coaches Conference.
While with Syracuse women's soccer, Shafer will be producing content for social media and assisting in the public relations efforts for the team.
