SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 18 Syracuse women's rowing team, coming off its most successful regular season in years, heads to its first ACC Championship in Clemson, S.C. on Friday and Saturday. While competing for conference medals, the Orange will be looking to put itself in position for an NCAA Championship bid.
Schedule
Rowing begins on Friday at 6 p.m. with heats in the first and second varsity eights and the varsity four. On Saturday, finals will begin at 8:02 with the third varsity eights and are scheduled to end at 9 a.m. with the varsity eight grand final.

In the Polls
Syracuse ranked No. 18 in the latest CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll announced on May 14, holding steady from last week's poll.
The Orange has been ranked every week of the 2014 season, including an eight-year high of No. 16 on April 9.
The other ACC teams ranked in the top 20 are No. 5 Virginia and No. 10 Notre Dame, while Clemson is receiving votes.
Last Time Out
No. 17 Syracuse swept Duke in all its early session races before losing to host and No. 5 Virginia in its second session races at the Monticello Invitational on Aril 26 on Lake Monticello. The four-team regatta featured two races each by Syracuse, Duke, Michigan State and Virginia in the first, second and third varsity eights and the varsity four.
In the first race of the day, Syracuse's V8 beat Duke by an open water margin of 4.7 second, crossing in 6:48.2 to the Blue Devils' 6:52.9. That proved to be the third-best V8 time of the early session as Virginia (6:30.0) beat Michigan State (6:37.9) in its opening race.
In the second session, SU's V8 lost to the host Cavaliers by 9.1 seconds as UVA crossed in 6:30.6 and the Orange finished in 6:39.7. Syracuse's time was again the third-best as the Spartans (6:38.2) beat the Blue Devils (6:46.2) in the other race.
Orange Seeks NCAA Bid
The Orange is looking to make the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2005 and sixth time overall.
The 2014 Division I NCAA Rowing Championship Selection Show will be webcast live on NCAA.com on May 20 at 5 p.m. The event consists of three boat classes (V8, 2V8 and V4) with 22 teams competing. Eleven teams qualify automatically through conference champion bids, while the other 11 at-large teams are chosen by the NCAA Rowing Committee.
The NCAA Championship will be held May 30-June 1 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, Ind.
