TOWSON, Md. – No. 2 Syracuse goes for its first national championship when it faces No. 1 Maryland in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship final. Opening draw is set for 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 25 at Unitas Stadium at Towson University.
The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and on ESPN3. Fans can also listen to the game on WJPZ 89.1FM in Syracuse and on CuseTV on Cuse.com free of charge.

Things to Watch For – Syracuse (21-2)
1. The Orange is making its second appearance in the national championship game. Syracuse advanced to the finals in 2012 where it lost to Northwestern, 8-6.
2. A win against Maryland would give the Orange the first national championship in program history and the first title for a women's sport at Syracuse.
3. With nine points against Virginia in the semifinals, senior Alyssa Murray now has 45 career points in NCAA Tournament play. That total ties her with current assistant coach Katie Rowan '09 for the most points by a Syracuse player in the national tournament.

Things to Watch For – Maryland (22-1)
1. The top-ranked Terrapins defeated Northwestern, 9-6, in the semifinals to advance to the championship game. The win improved Maryland's record to 22-1. Its only loss of the season came against North Carolina during the regular season.
2. Kelly McPartland, Taylor Cummings and Brooke Griffin lead a potent Maryland attack. McPartland leads the team with 92 points (60g, 32a), while Cummings has 83 points (60g, 23a) this season. Griffin is right behind with 82 points (59g, 23a). Abbey Clipp has started 22 games in goal for the Terps this season and has an 8.03 goals-against average and a .444 save percentage.
3. Cathy Reese is in her eighth season at the helm of the Maryland program. She guided the Terrapins to the 2010 national championship and is a seven-time ACC Coach of the Year honoree.
THE SERIES
Maryland leads the all-time series with Syracuse, 15-1. The Terrapins have defeated the Orange twice this season, once during the regular season in the Carrier Dome (12-10) and in the championship game of the ACC Tournament (13-7). Syracuse's last three losses have been against Maryland, including the 2013 national semifinals.
