Syracuse takes on two top-20 opponents Saturday
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's rowing team used a strong showing at last weekend's Clemson Invite to propel themselves back into the top 20 of the CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll. Syracuse ranks No. 17 in the nation in the latest ranking release, matching its highest showing of the season.
After receiving the most votes for teams ranked outside the top 20 for two consecutive weeks, the Orange returned after a great performance on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. Syracuse swept No. 19 Gonzaga in the first varsity eight, second varsity eight, and first varsity four on Sunday morning and defeated No. 16 UCLA in the first varsity eight and first varsity four in its first session on Saturday.
The competition remains tough for the women's rowing team as it travels to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday morning. Syracuse will take on No. 1 Ohio State, No. 13 Michigan, and Michigan State.
