
Martin to Join Field Hockey Program

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Over the coming weeks Syracuse University head field hockey coach Ange Bradley is announcing the program's 2015 signing class. Be sure the check Cuse.com as the Orange unveils its incoming class one-by-one.

In today's edition, Bradley is happy to announce the addition of Jamie Martin, a midfielder from Lititz, Pa.

"Jamie comes to us from fellow teammate Alyssa Manley's high school Warwick in Pennsylvania," added Bradley. "Jamie is a strong competitor and quick and powerful athlete. She is skillful and diligent in her preparation. We expect Jamie to help us out in the front five this upcoming year."

Martin has been a four-year letterwinner at Warwick High School, the same high school two-time All-American Alyssa Manley attended. In her four seasons under head coach Bob Derr, she recorded 37 goals and a school-record 44 assists. Martin was an all-state honoree as a senior and a three-time all-league member. As a sophomore, she helped the squad to an appearance in the state championship game.

Martin also has played lacrosse at Warwick, earning four letters. Off the field, she has been a member of the National Honor Society and named an Academic All-American, as well.

The Lititz, Pa. native grew up in an athletic family. Her mother, Julie, played field hockey at Northern Illinois University from 1987-90 and her father, David, wrestled at Millersville University from 1988-90.
