Hailing from Cromwell, Conn., McCory stepped onto campus and played in 25 games, starting five, her freshman year. She scored a season-high 16 points at Pittsburgh. McCory toured Brazil with the BIG EAST/Nike Women's All Star squad in the summer. She led the squad in rebounding, pulling down 33 boards in four games, including 18 rebounds in a game against Unined Brazil.
Â
McCory showed even more promise in her sophomore campaign, as she was one of only two Orange to start all 28 games. She tallied 26 points against Rider and Villanova and 17 rebounds against Detroit Mercy. She recorded five double-doubles on the year, as well. For her efforts on the court, McCory earned Syracuse Most Valuable Player accolades after averaging 12.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

The forward led the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game. As stated previously, she helped the Orange to a BIG EAST regular season title.
