Previous Additions: Katie Supey
Emilie Bruijn, a midfielder from Bilthoven, Netherlands, will join the Syracuse attack next season after playing with the Kampong club in the Netherlands previously.
"Hailing from Kampong, Emilie is a very dynamic and fast midfielder who brings a lot of creativity and aggression to the attack," said head coach Ange Bradley. "She is a very technical and tactical player who can play multiple positions and we expect her to make an immediate impact on our team. Emilie plays with a lot of energy and determination. We are pleased to welcome Emilie to our Syracuse family."
Bruijn was a two-time team captain for her club squad under head coach Bas Ophof, choosing to come to the Orange to play at the highest level.
"I chose Syracuse because they ended No. 1 nationally last year and I only want to play at the highest level possible as I do in the Netherlands at Kampong," Bruijn said.
Her goal at Syracuse is to earn her master's degree.
Bruijn is set to be the third member of the Orange hailing from the Netherlands on the Orange, joining returning defenders Roos Weers and Lies Lagerweij, to continue a strong legacy of Dutch student-athletes playing for the Orange.
