Strong Effort for Women’s Rowing

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Syracuse women's rowing team concluded its stay at the Head of the Charles on Sunday afternoon. For the second time in the past two years, Syracuse placed fourth in the championship four on Sunday. The finish ties for the second-best showing in program history at the world's largest two-day regatta.
Following a fifth place finish for the club eights on Saturday (16:55.787), the Orange competed in the championship four and eight events Sunday on the Charles River.
The championship four covered the course in 17:26.980, just under three seconds behind third-place Princeton.
In the championship eight, Syracuse finished in 10th place, recording a time of 15:27.945. It marked the third straight year that the team competed in the event and the finish is seven spots higher than last year's performance.
The Orange will conclude the fall campaign at Ohio State on Saturday, Nov. 4.
