A veteran sports medicine professional, Brad Pike was appointed associate athletics director for sports medicine in October 2016 and served in that role until June 2022. Pike oversaw all aspects of Syracuse’s Sports Medicine Department and served as the health care administrator for Syracuse Athletics.

From 2000 to 2022, Pike worked with the men’s basketball program and directed injury rehabilitation for all sports. In 2005, Pike was named head athletic trainer and director of sports medicine after serving as an associate athletic trainer for the Orange for five years. Pike previously worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Syracuse from 1989-91. Before returning to the University in 2000, Pike spent nine years working in outpatient physical therapy centers.

A 1989 graduate of Marietta College in Ohio, Pike majored in sports medicine as an undergraduate and received his master’s degree in education from Syracuse University in 1991. He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the SUNY Health Science Center in 1994.

Pike is proficient in full-body active release techniques (ART), sound-assisted soft tissue mobilization (SASTM), and is a certified National Academy of Sports Medicine Performance Specialist (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES). His special interests include exercise recovery and strength training.

A certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the College Athletic Trainers Society, the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association, and the New York State Athletic Trainers Association, Pike has presented at numerous symposiums and workshops.Â

Brad and his wife, Lynne, have two children – Ryan and Emily. Ryan Pike graduated from Syracuse University in 2018.
