John Gunter joined the Orange recruiting staff in August 2017 as a senior intern and was elevated to the position of recruiting quality control assistant in February 2018. Gunter assists the recruiting staff in attracting the best possible talent to Syracuse.

As an undergraduate, Gunter was a manager for the Coastal Carolina football program. In that role, he aided in identifying skilled, academically-qualified student-athletes for the Chanticleers. His duties included assisting in the preparation and execution of official and unofficial visits, organizing recruiting databases, and assisting with the program’s social media efforts.Â

A native of Warwick, Rhode Island, Gunter graduated from Coastal Carolina in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science.
