Corey Carpenter joined the Orange staff as a recruiting quality control assistant in March 2018. Carpenter aids in the program’s efforts to identify and attract the nation’s top high-school prospects.
Carpenter’s previous experience includes an 11-month stint from March 2015 to February 2016 as a recruiting assistant for the Louisville football program. Carpenter’s duties for the Cardinals included evaluating film of prospects, organizing and maintaining the program’s recruiting database, planning Junior Days and creating itineraries for official visits.
In addition to his work with the Cardinals, Carpenter previously coached high school football at two Louisville-area high schools. He was the quarterbacks coach from 2013-14 at DuPont Manual High School. In 2016 and 2017, he served as the offensive coordinator for Waggener High School where he directed an offense that averaged more than 30 points a game during his two seasons.
A standout quarterback in high school, Carpenter received a scholarship to attend Lindsey Wilson College. He played one season for the Blue Raiders before injuring his shoulder.
Carpenter graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport administration from Louisville in 2015.
