Munger Posts Double-Double In 3-1 Win Against Cornell

Syracuse (15-8) lost game one 15-11, but followed with consecutive-game wins of 15-3, 15-7 and 15-10 to win the match.
Munger recorded 11 kills and a team-high 16 digs in the match. She served three of the Orangewomens four aces and added three blocks to the effort. Senior rightside hitter Dana Fiume (Island Park, NY) led the Orangewomen with 15 kills. Senior outside hitter Julianna Stokes (Naperville, IL) killed 11 and sophomore outside hitter Abby Van Mater (West Chester, NY) added 10 kills.
Van Mater and junior setter Noreen Carroll (LaGrange, IL) spearheaded a 14-block performace by the Orangewomen. Carroll led all players with seven total blocks, while Van Mater contributed five blocks, including two solo stops. The Orange outblocked Cornell 14-4 in the match. Carroll also set 48 assists.
The Orangewomen continues its four-match homestand Oct. 20, facing BIG EAST foe Seton Hall at 7 p.m. in the Womens Building.
