Orange Take First in Varsity 4+ at New York State Championships

The No. 10 ranked Syracuse women's rowing team sent a crew to Saratoga Springs, New York to compete in the Varsity 4+ at the New York State Collegiate Championships. The Orange took first at the event with a winning time of 8:51.100 in the final.
The boat consisted of Eve O'Sullivan in the four seat, Lily Thorpe in the three seat, Nora Devine in the two seat, and Lea Guttormson in the first seat. The boat was coxed by Kate Yolken.
Syracuse posted the top time in the preliminary heats with a time of 8:10.130.
Marist took second in the finals with a time of 8:59.733 and Union in third with a time of 9:08.466. They were trailed by Colgate (9:16.255), Long Island (9.26.888) and Canisius (9:46.549). Other teams at the event included William Smith College, Rochester, Ithaca, Manhattan, St. John Fisher, Stony Brook, UAlbany, Binghamton and Rensselaer.
Syracuse will now head to Ann Arbor, Michigan for the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual where they'll race against Ohio State and Michigan on Saturday, April 25.
