
Munger Posts 16 Kills in BIG EAST Win

The Orangewomen (17-8 overall, 2-3 BIG EAST) won the match by sweeping Seton Hall (7-15, 0-5) 15-3, 15-7 and 15-1. Syracuse had an efficient hitting night, killing 32 percent of its attacks, while holding Seton Hall to a 10.8 attack percentage.
Junior outside hitter Carol Munger (Canandaigua, NY) led the Orange with 16 kills and a pair of service aces. She recorded five digs and two solo blocks. Senior rightside hitter Dana Fiume (Island Park, NY) posted 11 kills and a team-high four blocks in the win. She is 36 kills away from breaking the school's all-time kills record of 1,605, held by 1996 graduate Jen Murphy. Fiume tied freshman setter Michaela Skelly (Simi Valley, CA) for the team lead with six digs. In one game played, junior middle blocker Jing Jing Wang (Beijing, China) served a pair of aces.
Junior Noreen Carroll (LaGrange, IL) recorded 41 assists on offense.
The Orangewomen continues its four-match homestand Oct. 22, facing BIG EAST foe Rutgers at 2 p.m. in the Women's Building.
