Tudryn Sets Records In The 200 Breaststroke Against Pittsburgh

Tudryn broke a three-year old pool record in the 200 breaststroke. The old mark of 2:19.52 was set by Miami's Kristel Tellegan in 1997. The old school standard in the event was 2:18.85 set by Melanie Bryon in 1999.
Bryon's younger sister, Kelly Bryon (Uxbridge, Ontario), a junior on the team, captured first place in the 200-yard IM (2:07.92) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.22) against Pittsburgh.
Senior freestyler Eleanor Thoet (Bath, ME) aided the Orangewomen's efforts by winning the 50-yard free (24.62) and the 100-yard free (53.05). Thoet swam the anchor leg for SU's first-place 400-yard medley relay team in the first event of the afternoon.
Senior Dustin Riley (Carson City, NV) was the only Orangeman to finish first against the Panthers, and he did so in three events. Riley won the 200-yard IM in a time of 1:54.58, the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:52.64 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:07.49.
The next event for the Syracuse swimming and diving team will be the UNC-Chapel Hill Invitational on Nov. 16-18.
