
Fiume Named to All-BIG EAST First Team

Senior rightside hitter Dana Fiume (Island Park, NY) was named to the BIG EAST's All-Conference first-team Friday at the conference's annual awards ceremony in South Bend, IN.
Fiume was a three-time BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week, earning the award for the weeks of September 11, 18 and 25. She finished the season second in the conference with 534 kills and eighth with 4.27 kills per game, which was a school record. Fiume ranked ninth in the conference with 0.41 aces per game.
She broke five career records in her final collegiate season, including kills (1,698), kills per game (3.61), attacks (4,185), attacks per game (8.90) and block assists (395). In addition, she broke the single-season attacks record (1,242) and had the second-highest kills total in a season (534).
The teams were selected by the conference coaches. Syracuse was fifth in The BIG EAST Conference this fall with a 6-4 conference record. The Orangewomen had a 24-10 overall record.
