"Miami played pretty well tonight. They mixed it up on defense. They gave us a few different looks and they got after the ball. They are a legitimate number-two team."
On the SU offense:
"We didn't execute as well as we should have. On a few drives, we moved the ball well, but we needed to do it for the whole drive. They played good defense, but we could've played better."
On the week ahead:
"We're going to keep our heads up. We have a lot of leadership on this team. We'll get ready for Rutgers this week and keep our bowl hopes alive."
Dee Brown, running back
On the game:"We expected Miami to give their best effort and they really did. You can tell why they are the number-two team in the nation. They had something to play for and they showed it tonight."
On looking ahead:
"We'll work hard throughout this week of practice and we'll get ready for Rutgers and work towards a bowl game."
Duke Pettijohn, defensive end
On the game:"They just came here and did what they had to do. We just didn't get things done on defense. We didn't make or get the opportunities to get a turnover."
R.J. Anderson, quarterback
On Miami:"They're one of the top team's in the country and they did a great job tonight."
On SU's running attack:
"It was tough. The main part of the game is to run the ball and we didn't run the ball that well."
On the week ahead:
"We're looking to bounce back next week and get a win against Rutgers."
On whether nerves affected his performance:
"The first series maybe, but I was just really anxious. After that I don't think nerves played a role."
Will Allen, cornerback
On Miami's passing game:"They played well today. We had a couple blown coverages, but they're good. Ken Dorsey is good. He gets the ball off fast and he is accurate."
On Miami wide receiver Santana Moss:
"He is a great receiver. You'll see him playing on Sundays. They use him very well. He runs in motion a lot and you can't jam him coming off the line of scrimmage."
Clifton Smith, linebacker
On the season:
"Its going better than last year. Last year I was still learning everything. Now I have that second year of experience and I feel like Im playing at a higher level. Being a second-year player and calling the defense, thats what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a defensive play-caller. Im privileged to be able to do this. Im just glad that my teammates and my coach have the faith in me."
On the game:
"I would say that this team is a little bit more physical than Virginia Tech. We were able to get to (Michael) Vick and we werent able to get to this quarterback as much."
On the rest of the season:
"I feel that we can bounce back. Were near where we want to be. We just have to focus harder."
Morlon Greenwood, linebacker
On his career:
"Ive been here for five years and in my freshman, redshirt freshman and sophomore years we won three BIG EAST Championships. My junior and senior years have not been as good, but overall it has been a good experience. I dont regret any decision I have made."
More on his career:
"Ive gotten to know a lot of good people since I have been here. Things may not always work out the way you want them, but I have still enjoyed my time here."
On being named a captain:
"That means a lot to me. It shows that the players respect me. Im privileged to see that the team looks up to me. Being named captain is special because it happened as a result of me being who I am. I didnt act any differently to try to be named a captain. I just acted like the person that I am. It shows that people look up to me."
