The sophomore running back scored his first career-touchdown on a one-yard run in the first quarter.
Davis' 20-yard third quarter run is a career long.
Davis' rushed for three touchdowns, the last time a Syracuse player rushed for three scores was on Nov. 28, 1998 when Donovan McNabb had a hat trick vs. Miami.
Sophomore kicker/punter Mike Shafer converted his first career PAT in the first quarter.
Redshirt freshman defensive tackle Christian Ferrara had his first career fumble recovery in the first quarter.
The following Syracuse players had their first career starts this evening: Emerson Kilgore (left guard), Nick Romeo (center), Erik Kalyonides (right guard), Graham Manley (tight end), Aaron Lewis (tight end), Malik Campbell (wide receiver), Clifton Snell (defensive end), Christian Ferrara (defensive tackle), Latroy Oliver (cornerback) and JR Johnson (linebacker).
Junior wide receiver Maurice Jackson's first quarter 19-yard run was a career high.
Senior cornerback Will Allen blocked a field goal for the first time in his career in the first quarter. The last time SU blocked a field goal was in Nov. 6, 1993 against Temple.
Allen had a career high kickoff return of 59 yards in the second half.
Sophomore wide receiver David Tyree scored his first career points in the second quarter with a two-point conversion reception. In the third quarter Tyree had his first career blocked a punt and returned it for his first collegiate touchdown.
Junior free safety Quentin Harris had his first career fumble recovery, followed by a 91-yard run for his first career touchdown.
Sophomore fullback George Scott's 15-yard run in the second half is a career high.
SU's first half shutout is the first since Nov. 21 at Temple.
SU's shutout through three quarters is the first since Nov. 6, 1993 vs. Temple.
Reshirt freshman quarterback R.J.Anderson played in his first collegiate game.
Anderson's only pass was a 57-yard completion to Pat Woodcock.
Pat Woodcock's 57-yard reception is a career-high.
Running back Diamond Ferri became the 18th athlete to play as a true freshman during head coach Paul Pasqualoni's tenure at Syracuse.
Ferri rushed for his first career touchdown in his seven carries for 55 yards.
Wide Receiver Johnnie Morant became the 19th athlete to play as a true freshman during head coach Paul Pasqualoni's tenure at Syracuse.
Respectively Ferri and Morant are the sixth and seventh true freshmen to play in a season opener in the Pasqualoni era.
Redshirt freshman defensive end Josh Thomas made his first career quarterback sack.
Thomas also made his first career interception.
Junior wide receiver Malik Campbell's fourth-quarter punt return of 17 yards was his career long.
Senior cornerback Andrew Benson had his first career interception in the fourth quarter.
