There are seven teams on the schedule that qualified for last year's NCAA Tournament, including 2000 national semifinalists Johns Hopkins and Virginia, and SU's opponent in the championship game, Princeton. The Orangemen will take on all three teams in the Carrier Dome this spring.
"It will be great for the Syracuse community and our fans to see this caliber of competition in the Dome," said head coach John Desko. "Playing these kinds of teams will hopefully get us prepared for the NCAA Tournament."
The Orangemen will open the season with two scrimmages. They host Navy on Sunday, Feb. 11 at noon, and then travel to Army on Saturday, Feb. 17 for a 1 p.m. tilt against the Cadets.
The wins and losses officially start getting recorded on Friday, Feb. 23 when Colgate visits Syracuse. Virginia, picked third in Face-Off's Preseason Coaches Poll, makes an appearance on Saturday, March 3.
SU will battle Fairfield University on Monday, March 12 at Coral Springs High School in Florida. The Orangemen then return home for three-straight contests against Johns Hopkins, Princeton and Brown.
On Saturday, April 7, Syracuse travels to Baltimore to take on Loyola and then heads back to the Carrier Dome for its second three-game homestand. The Orangemen face Cornell, Rutgers and Pennsylvania.
The regular season closes out with three road matches. On Tuesday, April 24, the Orangemen are at Hobart. They travel to Amherst, MA to meet Massachusetts on Saturday, April 28, and then bus to Washington, D.C. the following Saturday, May 5 to battle Georgetown.
