Pasch-ion Play: It's Time to Come to the Dome!

The Orangemen are scoring points, both on offense, and defense. Spectacular plays on special teams are creeping back onto the scene, and SU is coming off a thrashing of Pittsburgh in the Panthers new stadium. Sure, if it were Miami or Virginia Tech instead of Temple visiting the dome this Saturday, you would find a way to make it work. It didn't used to be that way here. The Syracuse of the late 80's and early 90's was a lot like Blacksburg, Virginia today. No matter the opponent, that place rocks every Saturday. Fans go crazy, because they love their football team, and they win.
The Carrier Dome used to be like that, but we got spoiled with nine and 10 win seasons. It's impossible to keep that up, and pretty amazing when you think SU hasn't had a losing season since the mid 80's. Considering Syracuse is a winning football team in 2001, there's no excuse to skip a game to get caught up on your knitting. The Orange owns the same record as V Tech and Miami in the last five games. During this winning streak, the Orange hammered Auburn, which just knocked off the #2 team in the country. SU also beat two pre-season top 25 teams, in East Carolina and Pittsburgh. Central Florida is no pushover, and while Rutgers wasn't pretty, it's a win that counts as much as any other in The BIG EAST Conference.
So if you don't have tickets to Saturday's game, and can stand waiting until Sunday to rake the leaves, get to the Dome, because there is nothing like a packed stadium for a winning football team.
