Tonight begins preseason play for the Orangemen. The dawn of coach Jim Boeheim's 26th year at the helm of SU hoops is quickly approaching. The 1990-91 season was highlighted by the BIG EAST recognition received by Boeheim and Billy Owens.
Factoid
SU's win over UNC Charlotte in the Carrier Classic championship game was the 350th of Jim Boeheim's career. Boeheim reached this mark faster than any coach in NCAA history.

SU was 12-3 in games decided by fewer than 10 points and 7-1 in games decided by three points or less or in overtime.
BIG GAME: 27,037 Pack the Dome For SU's 1,300th Game
SU won its 1300th game on December 12, 1990 beating Canisius 92-82. SU became the 10th major college program to reach that plateau. Billy Owens scored 34 points to go with his seven rebounds. The Orange shot 51.5 % in the first half and 53.3% in the second half on their way to victory. The win came in front of 27,037 Carrier Dome fans.
