
SU WOMEN’S SOCCER EARNS NCAA BID
Orangewomen will rematch Illini in Champaign

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. —The Syracuse University women’s soccer team earned its second-ever NCAA Tournament bid and will play the University of Illinois for the second time this year in Champaign on Friday, Nov.16. The bid was announced on the NCAA Selection Show, televised on Monday afternoon.
SU’s other tournament appearance was in 1998 when the team advanced to the second round before losing Connecticut.
The Orangewomen (11-6-0 overall, 3-3-0 BIG EAST) beat the Illini (12-7-1 overall, 6-3-1 Big Ten), 2-1, on Sept. 7 in Champaign at the Orange and Blue Classic. The winner will advance to play the winner of the Santa Clara-Evansville game. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. central time.
