Year XVIII: Boeheim 25 Years In 25 Days

In eight days the Orangemen play Manhattan in the Carrier Dome in the first round of the NIT. SUathletics.com is in day 18 of "Boeheim 25 Years in 25 Days." SU made it to the Sweet 16 in the 1994 NCAA Tournament. Lawrence Moten continued his high-scoring ways for the Orange.

Record 23-7, 13-5 in the BIG EAST

SU advanced to its 12th "Sweet 16" in the NCAA tournament

In the Sweet 16 round the Orangemen lost to Missouri in overtime, 98-88

John Wallace registered 12 double doubles this season.

Jim Boeheim was named the Kodak District 2 Coach of the Year.

SU played a regular season game in Manley Field House for the first time since the 1979-1980 season. The November 16 game was against George Washington.

Lawrence Moten moved into seventh place in career scoring at Syracuse. He now has 1,745 career points.

Syracuse had five individual 30-plus point performances this season. Lawrence Moten had three of them.

In the Carrier Dome, no opponent this season scored 100 or more points.

In 17 of Coach Jim Boeheim's 18 seasons as head coach, the Orangemen have won 20 games in a season.

BIG GAME: Connecticut's Future Pros Lose in the Dome
The Orangemen defeated Connecticut 108-95 in the Carrier Dome on February 1, 1994. Ray Allen, Travis Knight, Donny Marshall, and Donyell Marshall, all future NBA players couldn't muster a win in the Dome. Three Orangemen, John Wallace's, 25 points, 10 rebounds Lawrence Moten, 31 points, 10 rebounds and Adrain Autry, 19 points, 12 assits all had double-double's on the night.
