
Starling Named Academic All-District

Senior J.J. Starling has been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.
The Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic performances.
Starling started all 30 games he competed in during the 2025-26 campaign. He averaged 12.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 29.0 minutes played. During the course of the season he scored the 1,000 point of his Syracuse career.
The nomination criteria for the honor includes a 3.5 cumulative grade-point-average and participation in 90 percent of a team's contests or starts in 66 percent of a program's games.
He is majoring in communications and rhetroical studies in the College of Visual & Performing Arts at Syracuse.
