Syracuse Announces Its 2002 Women's Lacrosse Schedule

SYRACUSE, NY - Syracuse University released its 2002 women’s lacrosse schedule on Thursday, Dec. 13. The 14-game schedule features five games against teams that qualified for last season’s NCAA Tournament. Additionally, SU will play Pennsylvania, Towson and Ohio State in scrimmages at Pennsylvania on Sunday, Feb. 17.
After the scrimmages, the Orangewomen open their season Saturday, March 2 at Virginia. They then return home to face defending national-champion Maryland on Sunday, March 10, and BIG EAST Champion and NCAA runner-up Georgetown on Friday, March 15.
Syracuse has doubleheaders with its men’s lacrosse team on Wednesday, March 27 when the Orangewomen face Colgate at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 4 against Dartmouth at 4 p.m.
The Orangewomen return 20 players from last year’s 10-5 squad. SU finished second in the inaugural season of the BIG EAST Conference and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. SU lost to North Carolina in the first round, 14-9.
