
SU Sets Blocked Sets Record In Colgate Win

SYRACUSE, NY -- Syracuse set a school record with 16 blocks and the Orangemen defeated Colgate, 70-51, on Tuesday night at the Carrier Dome. Freshman Craig Forth had a career-high seven blocks along with personal bests in points (nine) and rebounds (seven).
After leading 32-24 at the half, Syracuse broke the game open in the second period with a 16-2 run to take its largest lead of the game, 60-39, with 6:32 left in the contest. Senior forward Preston Shumpert scored seven points in the spurt and finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.
SU shot 50 percent from the field and held Colgate to 18-of-58 shooting (31 percent) for the game, Junior Kueth Duany led the way with a game-high 17 points and a team-best eight rebounds. Junior Jeremy McNeil scored a carer-high eight points and had four blocks in the game.
Tim Sullivan, Martin Marek and Dave Hardy led Colgate with eight points each.
The victory extended Syracuse's November winning streak to 25 games, a streak that dates back to November 1996.
