Tudryn and McDonough Turn in Best Performances for SU Friday Night at Nike Cup Invitational

On Friday night at the Nike Cup, sophomore Elyse McDonough (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) swam in four events for Syracuse and came in sixth in the 100 butterfly (56.92) and eighth in the 400 individual medley (4:29.36). The ironwoman helped SU's top relay teams to a ninth-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay (7:45.69) and a 13th-place performance in the 200 medley relay (1:50.19).
Other strong efforts for Syracuse on the second day of competition at the Nike Cup, came from sophomore Annie Tudryn (Springfield, Mass./Cathedral) who was sixth in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.17) and 13th as part of the 200 medley relay.
For the men, sophomore Spencer Raymond (Idstein, Germany/Singapore School) finished 17th in the 100 breaststroke (59.39). Freshman Gustavo Kertzscher (Skurup, Sweden) was 18th in the 100 backstroke (52.88). Senior Djordje Filipovic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) placed 20th in the 100 butterfly (53.31).
