Ervin started 20 games this season and leads the team in assists (88) and steals (38). At the time of her injury, she ranked seventh in the BIG EAST in assists (4.53 per game), fifth in assist/turnover ratio (2.00) and 14th in steals (1.90). In her career, Ervin dished out 438 assists which ties her fourth on Syracuses all-time leader list. She also recorded 198 steals which is good for seventh place on SUs career record list.
"We're very disappointed that Jakia will not be able to finish her senior season," said head coach Marianna Freeman. "She was having a great year. We look forward to her continuing to be a part of the team as we prepare for the BIG EAST Tournament."
The Orangewomen (10-12, 4-8) will be back in action on Saturday when they host Seton Hall at 8:00 p.m. at Manley Field House.
