The Syracuse women's basketball team will face No. 2 seed Louisville in the quarterfinal round of the 2026 Ally ACC Women's Basketball Tournament on Friday. Tip-off at Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia, is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET and will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
Syracuse enters the quarterfinals after defeating No. 10 seed California 70-59 in the second round Thursday, marking the first ACC Tournament win of the Felisha Legette-Jack era at Syracuse. Louisville received a double bye after finishing second in the ACC with a 25-6 overall record and a 15-3 conference mark.
The Cardinals lead the all-time series 22-8 and have won nine of the last 11 meetings, including an 84-65 win at the JMA Wireless Dome on Feb. 8 that handed Syracuse its first home loss in over a month. In ACC Tournament history, the two programs have met three times, with Louisville winning each of the last two, including a 72-59 semifinal victory over Syracuse in 2021. The Orange's last conference tournament win over the Cardinals came on March 5, 2016, when Syracuse knocked off the two-seed to advance to the ACC Championship Game before eventually reaching the program's first Final Four.
ACC Rookie of the Year Uche Izoje powered Syracuse past California with a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds, recording her 14th double-double of the season. All-ACC Second Team guard Laila Phelia added 17 points while Sophie Burrows chipped in 13, helping the Orange to a 36-30 advantage in points in the paint and converting all four of their fast-break opportunities.
A Syracuse win would improve the Orange to 24-7 overall and advance the program to the ACC Semifinals for the first time since 2021.
