Linebacker
Oromocio, New Brunswick, Canada (Cegep Vanier College)
On his decision to come to SU:
"Coming to Syracuse was an easy decision for me. Everything is great here. SU has great academics, it's a great campus and, of course, the football team is terrific. It has a great history and it is just a great program. It is the only decision I could have made."
On his first impressions of the team's workouts:
"It is hard, but it is fun. SU has a very good program. You notice improvements quickly."
Jose Harris
Linebacker
Medford, MA (New Mexico Military Institute)
On his decision to come to SU:
"It is close to home. I live about four hours from here, and I was out in New Mexico for awhile, so it is nice to be where my family and friends can come to see me play."
On who he looks up to on the current SU team:
"Dwight Freeney. He was very impressive this season. He was explosive and that is who I will try to emulate."
Julian Pollard
Defensive End
Bloomfield, CT (Bloomfield)
On why he chose SU:
"The communications school. I would like to be a broadcaster, and although I am not in Newhouse (the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication) right now, I plan to get there. Academics and the fact that it is closeto home were both big factors in my decision."
On his training at SU:
"Right now I am learning a lot and getting stronger. Weight training is helping me a lot. Going into spring ball, I feel like I may have a bit of a step up on some of the other recruits. "
On his relationship with former high school teammate Dwight Freeney:
"It is the same situation, I played behind Dwight in high school. He was helpful in the recruiting phase. You can always trust a good friend like Dwight. He told me what was going on, how they felt about me and how I fit into the program."
Thump Belton
Fullback
Charlotte, NC (West Charlotte/Northeast Mississippi CC)
On his training at SU:
"Coming into spring practice I really expect to compete. I expect to get bigger and stronger. I have put on 10 pounds in the last three weeks and I think that goes to show how hard we work here. I am looking forward to learning the system and getting ready for Georgia Tech on August 26."
On Coach Pasqualoni:
"I met Coach P in 1999. He visited my home in Charlotte and my family loved him. Talking to Coach Pasqualoni, you can tell that he is a very honest person. He is a very loyal person. I know what he expects out of people - nothing but the best. If you don't give him your best, you can be prepared to do it all over again."
