SU Football Coach Paul Pasqualoni to be Inducted into Western Connecticut Univeristy Hall of Fame

Syracuse University head football coach Paul Pasqualoni is one of nine individuals who are part of the Western Connecticut University inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame class. Pasqualoni, who served as Western Connecticut’s head football coach for five years before coming to Syracuse, and seven Western Connecticut alumni and a former baseball coach will be enshrined on Friday, March 30 at a dedication of the Hall of Fame at the O’Neill Center on the Western Connecticut campus.

Pasqualoni led WCSU to a 34-17 record from 1982 to 1986, including the three best records in the program’s history. His teams were regionally ranked in four of five years. Pasqualoni earned the New England Football Conference co-Coach of the Year Award in 1983 after leading WCSU to a 7-3 record. In 1985 he directed Western Connecticut to a 10-2 record and the New England Football Conference Championship and the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Pasqualoni, who is in his 11th year as Syracuse’s head coach, will return to the field with the Orangemen on Saturday, March 31 as SU begins Spring practice. Syracuse will host its annual Spring game on Saturday, April 28 at 1:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Admission is free of charge. After the game fans will be invited onto the field where SU student-athletes and coaches will visit and sign autographs.
