
Vucetic Finishes Sixth in Consolation Final of the 100-Yard Backstroke at the 20001 NCAA Championships

COLLEGE STATION, TX -- Senior Josko Vucetic (Split, Croatia) turned in
a sixth-place performance in the consolation finals of the men's
100-yard backstroke on day two of the NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and
Diving Championships. He finished 14th in the event overall with a time
of 48.41. Tennessee's Michael Gilliam won the championship in the 100
backstroke with a time of 45.97.
Vucetic and junior Djordje Filipovic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) will both compete on Saturday, March 24, the final day of the championships. Vucetic will participate in the 200-yard backstroke, while Filipovic will represent the Orangemen in the 200 butterfly.
